A career that makes a difference

Do you want the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a difference? Do you want a career that encourages you to progress as far as you want to go – even become a manager?

More than a job

No two autistic people are the same and therefore no two jobs with us are the same. We recruit, train and promote the right people to support those living with autism.

More than just a job, you will have a true part to play in the lives of the people we support - helping them to live independently, enjoy a better quality of life and play an active role in their local community.

Andrea began as a support worker and is now Manager of Mere Brow Resource Centre, in Southport. She says, “You don’t need to know anything about autism. We offer excellent training to help you and there are many opportunities to further your career, which can be fairly quick as we are growing.”

A former support worker and now service manager, adds, “The joy of working at Autism Initiatives is that we match the applicant to the person using our services – which means hobbies, interests and personality are as important as qualifications or experience.”

A newly appointed area manager believes, “We’re determined and committed to improving the lives of the people we support - and this means that we, as staff, are fulfilled.”

Support worker Marc loves his job, "You're making a difference in people's lives. Just being with them is making them happy and you feel like you're doing something worthwhile."
