As a Team Leader at Autism Initiatives, you will experience a rewarding and worthwhile career. You will have the ability to empower and inspire staff to deliver a high standard of individualised, person centered support.

The Team Leader will be accountable to their Service Manager for the overall management and quality of the service, in keeping with AI philosophy, aims and objectives. The Team Leader will also be expected to work directly with the service users and staff to ensure the effective running of the service. The role will involve assisting the Service Manager as required with the everyday running of the service and to deputise in the absence of the Service Manager as required.

As a Team Leader you will also promote and embed a culture of responsibility and commitment to the role, you will also motivate staff to complete ongoing professional development ensuring they maintain their drive and enthusiasm for the job

Essential Criteria:

  • One year experience in a senior support role for autistic people, or individuals with related condition
  • A UK driving licence is advantageous
  • Be flexible to work according to the needs of our services
  • A caring, passionate, enthusiastic individual with leadership skills
  • NISCC registered or apply to register

Good knowledge of autism and a passion for continual achievement and development is important in this role, though we will also provide you with continuous training programmes to build on existing knowledge and to support your continued professional development. A desire to make a positive difference in the lives of people with autism is essential for this important role.

Ideally you will already have a Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification, or equivalent and experience.

Given the nature of the role, these positions are subject to an enhanced check by Access NI for the successful applicants. The cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.

You will be required to refund the Access NI cost of £33.00 to Autism Initiatives if you leave your employment within six months of your commencement date.
