Lloyds Bank Commercial team from Liverpool spent a day supporting the team at WeGrow ...

WeGrow was delighted to host a team of volunteers from Lloyds Banks Commercial division this month. The Lloyds team based in Old Hall Street Liverpool spent their volunteering day at the social enterprise in Southport painting the cabins, bird hide and office and helping with some on-site maintenance.

Lloyds Bank has a main national charity partner, but local teams are encouraged to select a local charity to work with too.

Alex Middleton-Adams of Lloyds Bank said: "We know Autism Initiatives is based locally and that they do great work. We also back Liverpool's ambition to become an Autism Friendly City so it seemed like a really good fit for us. This is just the start of our local partnership with Autism Initiatives where we are looking forward to undertaking some fundraising for this great cause later this year too.”

WeGrow is a social enterprise charity run by Autism Initiatives that sells home grown vegetables (cultivated without chemicals and pesticides) and free range eggs (from their very own happy hens) along with a range of specially selected local produce both in their onsite farm shop on Radnor Drive Southport and through a veg bag delivery scheme. Autistic people attending sessions at WeGrow can develop a range of skills from horticulture and animal husbandry to money management and social skills.

WeGrow’s Manager Cathy Buck said: “It’s been brilliant having the support of the Lloyds Commercial Banking team. Help with the building maintenance is invaluable and allows us to remain focussed on our work supporting people with autism.”
