Miriam's Message of Hope from India

Posted on 16th November 2018

Following Autism Initiatives fundraising for the Hope Foundation Miriam Mooney reports back from India on the impact our support has had ...

Miriam said: "I am back from my volunteering trip with the HOPE Foundation in Calcutta India and what an eye opening experience it was.  Each day our group visited 2 of the HOPE Projects in the city – there are currently 72 up and running. The work that the charity does is simply inspirational and there are no words to describe what they do for the street children. They provide meals, clothes and an opportunity to learn to children from the age of 2 years to 18 years old."

In Calcutta there are a number of crèches, schools, children’s home and a hospital all funded by the HOPE Foundation and the it is these that have benefitted from the fundraising undertaken by Autism Initiatives staff and supporters in Ireland.

Miriam added: "Your generous donation made a HUGE difference and I wanted to say a very big Thank You on behalf of myself and the charity. Thanks again for your support – I witnessed how the funds are used and can tell you that every single penny counts."
