A Great Little Place Café Celebrates at The Atkinson

Posted on 25th July 2019

Following huge successes in the last 18 months, A Great Little Place will remain at its current home in The Atkinson until at least 2022 after signing a new three year lease.

The award winning café’s accolades now include best coffee shop, independent café of the year, and a Trip Advisor certificate of excellence 2019!

The team are celebrating their achievements by creating custom menus and wine tastings to compliment the evening shows and events at The Atkinson. The first of these events back in April paired perfectly with An Evening of Country and Americana music featuring delicious smoky pulled pork, jambalaya, and a classic Texan chilli.

Head of Enterprise at Autism Initiatives Jon Gordon said, "We are delighted to partner with Sefton Council on this venture, providing a high quality café option for visitors to this fantastic local arts facility as well as creating greater opportunities for autistic people in our region".
Charlotte Down from The Atkinson said: “A Great Little Place is a real asset to The Atkinson and we are thrilled to continue working with Autism Initiatives to grow and develop our unique day and night time offer. The café consistently provide homemade and imaginative food with exceptional service.”

It is refreshing to notice the new growth of businesses springing up in Southport town centre. Birkdale and Churchtown continue to flourish with independent businesses and Lord Street is not far behind, regenerating and modernising more each day. Venues like The Atkinson and A Great Little Place are flourishing examples of organisations with vision and heart and give us a small taste of even bigger things to come.
