WeGrow Summer Fair Success

The WeGrow team celebrate as their Summer Fair raises more than £1,600

WeGrow’s summer fair became more of a summer extravaganza … the sun shone throughout and the event has already raised over £1,600!

The charity’s Head of Enterprise, Jon Gordon, was trapped in the stocks (with revellers paying to pour water on his head!) and hundreds of fresh pizzas were made and sold. Classic fairground games including Splat the Rat and Hook-A-Duck reeled in big crowds and the free nature trail and den building helped keep the kids busy for hours.

Stacks of prizes, many of which kindly donated by local businesses, were won throughout the day and the event delivered what it promised and more.

The event promoted WeGrow’s mission for fresher, local produce while supporting autistic people in gaining valuable work experience.

Community Fundraiser Ed Green said: "Events like the WeGrow summer fair continue to put Southport on the map for the best reasons - raising money for charity and promoting a greener, more sustainable future. We would like to thank all the organisations, businesses and families who supported this fantastic event."
WeGrow’s Summer Fair was such a success they have already decided to run it as an annual event. So keep an eye out towards the end of June 2020 for next year’s event to be sure you don’t miss the perfect family day out.
