Crosby St Mary's and Waterloo Rugby Clubs braved the mud to raise funds for Autism Initiatives

Boxing Day saw players from Crosby St Mary's and Waterloo Rugby Clubs brave the cold and mud to play a special charity match in support of Autism Initiatives.

The event, which raised a total of £495.96 so far through online donations, sponsorship and donations from spectators, is held annually to raise funds for good causes important to the clubs and their players.

Garrath Bell of Crosby St Mary's Rugby Club said: “Crosby St Mary’s and Waterloo Rugby Clubs hold a Charity Rugby match every year on Boxing Day in memory of several players we have unfortunately lost over recent years.
In their name we have been supporting local charities and increasing care for people with ASD is a cause very close to many members of both clubs and we want to put our support behind Autism Initiatives. It’s always been a great day and a game played in good spirit and it is always good to help out such a great cause."

Thank you to both the clubs and all the players and supporters for supporting Autism Initiatives.
