Record Number of Santas to Dash Across Liverpool for Autism Initiatives

Posted on 17th November 2022

Autism Initiatives are celebrating the start to the festive season by putting forward the largest team taking part in the 2022 Liverpool Santa Dash.

This December festivities will be off to a flying start on Sunday December 4 as a squad of St Nick’s take to the streets in the city’s famous 5km event which is the largest, longest-running Santa Dash in the UK.

On the day of the annual event, seas of Santas will be spotted walking, jogging and sprinting across the city centre to fundraise for an array of fantastic causes.

Setting off from the Pier Head, the scenic route will edge along the Royal Albert Dock, wind through waterfront streets, and come to an exciting finish at the historic Town Hall.

The event is inclusive for a range of abilities and is one of the city's most popular events. Throughout the day, the atmosphere of Liverpool Santa Dash is truly inspiring, with crowds gathering to support their loved ones and colleagues by cheering them on.

Not to mention, it’s a brilliant opportunity to take photographs of thousands of Santas against the breath-taking backdrop of Liverpool waterfront. This year, we’re planning on capturing memories of the day with another team selfie of our amazing staff.

At Autism Initiatives, our brilliant fundraising team have been busy spreading the word about the annual event, with an overwhelming response from staff across the charity.

This year, we are delighted that more than 65 Santas will be taking part in the event to raise money for our organisation. This includes team members from Head Office, our support centres, OSSME, Peterhouse School and our social enterprises.

The Liverpool Santa Dash is an integral part of the fundraising team’s calendar. The department has been very busy planning and preparing for the big day.

Edna, Community Fundraiser at Autism Initiatives said: “Our team are showing their support for projects that enhance the lives of those we work alongside. The funds raised allow us to continue offering sports, crafts, social groups and tailored resources to help improve the quality of life of autistic people.”

For more than 50 years, Autism Initiatives has been supporting autistic people and their families to improve their quality of life and to reach personal goals. Our team are dedicated to creating positive experiences and supporting individuals with a person-centred approach.

If you’d like to come along and support our brilliant team of Santas, we would love to see you on Sunday 4th December 2022.
