Free Post Diagnostic Support for autistic adults in Scotland

Autism Initiatives Scotland is excited to announce its role in Scotland's National Post Diagnostic Support Service

Scotland's first national campaign on autism was created in response to The Scottish Government Consultation on The Scottish Strategy for Autism, which highlighted the stigma and discrimination that autistic people face.

Autism Initiatives Scotland is proud to have been selected to offer post diagnostic support to autistic adults across the whole of Scotland.

What is the programme

  • A six-month pilot, funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by our OSS Coordinators
  • Initial virtual 'meeting' with one of our Autism Coordinators to discuss the programme and link you with the right cohort
  • Eight virtual group sessions, where you will meet other autistic adults and explore various topics to help increase your understanding of autism, develop your appreciation of the positives of autistic neurotype, and develop strategies to respond to difficulties
  • Follow-up 1:1 virtual 'meeting' with the Autism Coordinator you first met, to discuss what other support or service you require, signpost you to appropriate local services, and link you in with any existing Autistic People’s Organisations.
