Welcome to WeGrow

An established award winning social enterprise vegetable business that provides supported work experience for autistic people of all ages.

Welcome to WeGrow

Established in 2012, We Grow was set up by Autism Initiatives with National Lottery funding to provide fresh local produce within the local community of Southport and Sefton whilst providing varied and healthy outdoor supported work experience for autistic people to improve their employability.

We pride ourselves on recycling as best we can, making our own compost, harvesting rainwater and reducing our use of single use plastics. In addition we have a pond, numerous bird tables, hedgehog tunnels and bug hotels that encourages wildlife to flourish.

Enterprise

We grow and sell a great range of home grown seasonal fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs both onsite and from other local producers. We also sell our own free range eggs and honey as well as an expanding range of local deli produce.

Sales can be from our onsite shop, but we also deliver weekly and fortnightly veg boxes to local homes and businesses as well as operating mobile shops. Standard veg boxes start from £10 and larger Family boxes from £15, very local deliveries are free as we try not to use vans for this. We can also add fruit bags and other items to your delivery

If you would like to order local veg regularly to your door please email Cathy using the link below.

In addition, we have a range of up-cycled and re-purposed furniture which is sold at weekend fairs once or twice a year. Please follow us on Facebook for our opening hours plus more details of events and items for sale.

Social

Alternative Education

We work alongside Peterhouse School and OSSME and local schools to create a selection of meaningful alternative education placements within the peaceful setting of this outdoor based social enterprise. Young people can learn about and gain skills in employability, vegetable production, site maintenance, sales and customer service, recycling, handling cash and banking, health and safety in the workplace. This can be supported by e-learning.

Please click here if you are interested in alternative education placements.

Adult Work Placements

We also offer a wide range of employment focussed, autism specific supported work placements for adults that encourage learning new skills and improve people’s health and well-being. These placements can be supported by e-learning.

We aim to create opportunities for autistic people that will help them have ownership and understanding of their own lives and futures.
