Duty of Candour

Duty of Candour Report – 2023/24

This report is specific to Scotland.

For the period April 2023 until March 2024, there have been no incidents to which the Duty of Candour procedure has applied.

All Autism Initiatives staff, in Scotland, undertake training on the Duty of Candour and undergo a mandatory test.

We have a Policy and Procedure on Duty of Candour and a transparent checklist setting out steps to comply with the Duty of Candour.  The National Director has delegated responsibility for the Responsible Person’s role.

All incident reports ask whether the incident invokes the Duty of Candour procedure.

Autism Initiatives employ an external Employee Assistance Programme to provide additional support to all staff, where they want this.  This is a confidential service, which all permanent staff have access to.
