Aaron takes on ‘Day of the Deadlift’ challenge to raise funds for Highland One Stop Shop
Aaron Vass, who has been using Highland One Stop Shop since 2015, took the Day of the Dead to a new level this Halloween.
Aaron lifted a total of 50,000kg to fundraise for Autism Initiatives’ Highland One Stop Shop service by doing his own “Day of the Deadlifts”. He completed 500 deadlifts of 100 kg over the course of 6 hours.
The lifting took place on Thursday 31st October 2024 at The Forge Gym in Inverness. Aaron was supported by his friends, family and personal trainer Pamela.
This physical challenge of endurance is something that Aaron was inspired to do following his regular gym training sessions and interest in weightlifting.

“I have Asperger’s Syndrome and have my struggles. I want to raise funds for Highland one Stop Shop, as over the last 9 years since I was diagnosed, the staff have helped me with various aspects of my life. I know HOSS struggles to get funding for this essential service for its users in the Highlands so I wanted to do my bit to help”
Aaron set out to raise £500 for this fundraising event, and he completely surpassed his expectations, raising a total of £1010.
