Autism Initiatives' Isle of Man head office moves to a new location in Douglas
Have you heard? Our Isle of Man team have moved to a new office location
We’re delighted to announce that the team in the Isle of Man have recently relocated their head office to Alma House in Douglas.
The new building sits in a bustling city centre location within the island’s financial district, making it lot more accessible both for the staff team, families of people who use our services and visitors.
“We’re so excited about moving into a fantastic and improved new head office, which will be offering greater access for our staff and visitors, including better training facilities and breakout room use for staff and families”
Autism Initiatives began supporting the local people of the Isle of Man in 2001. Initially, this consisted of outreach support in the community, provided by a small team. The organisation gradually expanded and opened their first residential services, specifically for children and young people, in 2007.
Currently, the team on the Isle of Man supports a number of autistic adults in residential houses and supported living, and there’s also a community resource centre supporting people throughout the week with employment opportunities, horticultural skills and social groups and interactions.
In addition to this the Isle of Man outreach team currently supports people in the community. While a dedicated children’s outreach team works alongside young people, parents and carers.
There are lots of exciting things set to take place in the future. As well as the head office move, the team are in the process of developing more services and supporting transitions into these.
