Musical fundraisers hold Northern Soul, Ska, Motown and Reggae night for Autism Initiatives

Fundraisers Dan Littlechild, Jo Parslow and Samantha Morgan recently held a night of Northern Soul, Ska, Motown and Reggae music in Pembury, Kent, to raise money for Autism Initiatives.

The event was headlined by local DJ ‘The Undertaker’, and special guests ‘DJ Skorcher, Jo Parslow and Paddy also spun some sunny Ska beats.

Dan Littlechild who organised the event said:

“The place was rocking. Another memorable night at the King William IV. Thank you to everyone who came along to support us. This is a cause that means so much to me. Any contributions will make a great impact.”

Those in attendance put on their sharpest suits, doc martins, and trilby hats, in a nod to their memories of the Ska music era, and danced the night away.

In total, a fantastic £400 was raised, which will help to support autism projects across the UK and Ireland.

There was also a raffle to raise money, with some amazing prizes from local business in Pembury.

Michael Gabriel, who attended, said:

“It was an amazing night. Watching from behind the bar, it was incredible. My son, who is autistic, loved being there to help us”

Fundraising Officer Liz Oakley said:

“We’d like to give a huge thank you to Dan and all the DJs who performed for their support. This is such a unique fundraising idea, and it sounds like a fantastic night was had by all”
