Gender Pay Gap Report

Autism Initiatives UK publishes an annual report which shows how pay rates for women and men compare.  Here are the highlights from the current report.


Difference in hourly rate 

  • Women’s mean hourly rate is 2.8% higher than men’s.  In other words when comparing mean hourly rates,  women earn  £1.03  for every £1 that men earn. 
  • Women’s median hourly rate is 0.5% lower than men’s.  In other words when comparing median hourly rates,  women earn the same as men. 

Proportion of women in each pay quartile

  • Top quartile  (highest paid) - 56.1% of the top quartile are women 
  • Upper middle quartile - 55.5% of the upper middle quartile are women 
  • Lower middle quartile - 58.8% of the lower middle quartile are women 
  • Lower quartile  (lowest paid) - 59.3% of the lower quartile are women 

Who received bonus pay

  • 68.1% of women
  • 74.9% of men
