Autism Initiatives started the year on cloud nine with the launch of the ninth Walk for Autism challenge.

Registration for Walk for Autism 2026 is open, inviting all ages to step up to the fundraising challenge. Autism Initiatives welcomes participants to get involved in the fun and fundraise for autism projects across Merseyside and the wider UK.

The challenge will step into action on 26 March and come to a finish on World Autism Acceptance Day, 2 April. Walk for Autism UK invites all ages and abilities to walk 10,000 steps a day for 8 days, encouraging participants to walk their steps wherever they choose. The fundraising week offers an inclusive way to raise important funds and to keep fit as the spring season begins.

The charity’s projects and services cover area across England, Scotland, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Wales. Last year, the Walk for Autism challenge raised an impressive £586,000. In recent years, funds have been used to take on specialist staff with a focus on wellbeing, open new services for greater accessibility, and to fund work experience opportunities at social enterprises such as We Grow in Southport.

Participants who raise at least £20 will be sent a fantastic Walk for Autism t-shirt by the fundraising team. Plus, there’s the opportunity to earn more rewards while making a difference; fundraising milestones include: medals, wristbands and the famous Fundraising Legend title! Could you take the crown this year?
