Autism Initiatives charity has another fantastic fundraising challenge ready to raise vital funds in 2026. After last year’s smash-hit launch, Run for Autism is returning for its second year this October, inviting runners of all abilities to get involved and keep fit this autumn.

Last year’s Run for Autism challenge saw an incredible £55,000 raised for autism projects across the UK. Building on the success of the charity’s established Walk for Autism campaign, the charity’s running challenge invites participants to complete 40 kilometres throughout the month of October.

Whether participants take on 10k a week, tackle the distance via local ParkRun events, or combining the goal with a “Couch to 5k” journey, the event is tailored to accommodate seasoned athletes and complete beginners of all ages.

Registration is currently open, so if this event sounds like something you’re ready to try, why not check out the Run for Autism website for more information? All funds raised directly support Autism Initiatives projects across the UK and help to provide specialist support and services.

So this autumn, whether you’ll be lacing up your own running trainers, or supporting from the sidelines, you can show your support for Run for Autism by spreading the word on social media and keeping up with challenge updates. You’ll find regular posts and news on Facebook (@WeRunforAutism) and TikTok at (@run_for_autism)

Run for Autism is a campaign brought to you by Autism Initiatives Group, an organisation that has helped to improve the lives of autistic people for the last 50 years. A national charity based in the UK, the charity was founded by Pat Minshull, a local mother in Merseyside who was dedicated to finding the right support for her son. Today, the charity continues to honour Pat’s legacy, working in partnership with autistic people and their families.
